Q: What the general purpose of Jari Operating System ?
A: Jari OS main goal is a platform to create solution for industrial/automation systems as well as for autonomous embedded devices used for controls.
Q: Is Jari OS based on existing solutions - linux, mach, L4 etc ... ?
A: No, we're have our microkernel, our services and our architecture. We're don't want to tell that our code 100% written from scratch, we have injected some GPLed code to our project.
Q: What the benefits Jari OS has ?
A: It's a free software project that attempts to provide a very flexible platform that can be easy extended with you own needs. Jari OS will provide all necessary API and layers to support and add industrial automation standards and protocols. From the other side is a microkernel and multiservice based system that might be constructed to support system life while 2/3 of the services (or non critical hardware) are failed.
Q: What Jari mean ?
A: Jari it's not a name, Jari stands for Just another research in.
Q: You have an amd64 port, do you planned other hardware architecture ports ?
A: Yes, but primary goal now is a fully featured system that can be used on one architecture, after first version release we will starts to porting Jari OS. The main target is a 32-bit platforms (most SBCs works on 32bit CPUs).
Q: Could I join to project ?
A: Yes, it will not a waste of time.
Q: How the team works?
A: The project team works for the project mainline goal, but it doesn't mean that other works not possible for non-team members.
